How can I describe this show for the uninitiated? 2 Power hours of old school Hip Hop goodness? A couple of hours of bits and bobs? Maybe... how about something to listen to if all there was to listen to otherwise was the sound of a horse farting.

I started broadcasting back in 1991. It was in a flat in a tower block in Somers town in Pompey. We transmitted from a set of decks connected to some kit in a biscuit tin. You would think that 30 years late I could do it right... right? Well of course there is still shit that fucks it all up and this night I was being attacked from all angles! Bit of a train wreck, but that's the nature of the beast in this game... enjoy the show (if you can!)

Disco Scratch Radio this week was mainly featuring a mix i did while trollied the previous weekend! I had received a tape in the post from Shane Robitaille who I interviewed last week, featuring all the tracks he was listening to at the time the book "Rockit Crew" was set. So, I decided to go all analogue and get a bunch of 12s from 1983 and do a vinyl only 1983 mix to cassette tape... the mix is an hour long, so with this, some views at 10 and some chat room selection, toilet humour...

What a pleasure it was to get 2 hours with Shane Robitaille as we discussed the ideas, development, history, likes and loves of the man himself and the creative process that went into his latest book, "Rockit Crew". I was particularly interested in this as the story has similar elements to my own life, my own experiences with Hip Hop culture. The book is a fantastic snapshot into the life, heart and mind of a kid trying to find his feet in a world where all that matters is your...

"Crazy Noise" was a seminal LP in Hip Hop history for me... one that had some great tracks on it, full of promise, energy, dope beats & rhymes... also it had that playfulness but with that hardcore edge... something more serious rap lacks... something humane about it. Well, the rapper Stezo sadly died of a heart attack on 29.04.2020 aged 51. I started the show with 2 bangers from him and I was in the mood just to revisit a lot of tunes I hadn't heard for a while... throw into...

Over the past couple of years I've had many great conversations with various members of the Ageing B Boys Unite! Facebook group , one of those members being Smudger. He has a large following on Mixcloud, offering some superb mixes, not just Hip Hop, but the genres you know & remember, the stuff that Hip Hop heads will also listen to such as Jungle, House, RnB, grime dub, smepial tribute mixes, loads of stuff.... You can check his mixes out here: https://www.mixcloud.com/smudgeafc/ I...

Kicking off the AGEING B BOYS UNITE stage was yours truly at 7PM on the Friday night. Crumplbangers had already started at 3PM so I had some catching up to do! I wanted to try something a little unusual but not too outlandish so I settled on tracks that appear on albums (a lot of these also came out on 12 as well, but I played the off the vinyl LP), UK vs US... who wins? Leave a comment after the tracklist below... all your usual download options below... set 2 coming tomorrow night...

Wattup denizens of the interwebs, it's your ships captain Wax here, hoping to find you well and in fine fettle... because of the dominance of the Corona Virus outbreak it's practically impossible to avoid it... so tonights show was to delve into the ying and yang, the positivity and negativity of the situation by playing you tunes selected by the Ageing B Boys Unite group members and balancing it out with pure positivity from the chat room heads... Strange times we are living in people, stay...

Being as Blade is now on social media I replayed this interview as he is writing some great posts on FB at the moment. Between myself and a couple of others we will be helping Blade get a proper website up and running with all the great pictures, videos and stories. He was in the chat room when this show was played, so when I say it's worth getting in the chat, it really is!

Waxy woo brings some new tracks along, has a good rant about "internet speak" that is affecting our beloved English language. Chatroom stuff, "Record reviews", Ageing B Boys Unite special talking about the best intros to Hip Hop tracks, the usual stuff that sounds like dog diarrhoea being sucked through a sock. Recorded in Wales, streamed from Petersfield...
